VIRGINIA CHAMBER ANNOUNCES "FANTASTIC 50” COMPANIES for 2006
April 28, 2006 -
SNVC has been named to the Fantastic 50 for 2006 by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes SNVC as one of the fastest growing companies in the Commonwealth during the period 2001 through 2004. Mr. Tom DeWitt, SNVC President and CEO, accompanied by members of his senior leadership team, members of the SNVC Board of Directors, and two special guests, attended the Fantastic 50 Networking Reception and Awards Banquet where he accepted the award on behalf of the 55 employees of SNVC.
The awards ceremony was held April 27, 2006 in Chantilly , Virginia at the Westfields Marriott. The Fantastic 50 represents the fifty fastest growing companies in the Commonwealth. As Hugh Keogh, President and CEO of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, stated, "Your growing companies, with their diverse ventures and robust energy, represent an exciting and hopeful future for Virginia 's economic progress in the 21st Century. We are proud to recognize your achievements!" Established 11 years ago, the Fantastic 50 Award program's purpose was to "generate more recognition for small, entrepreneurial companies throughout the Commonwealth for the contribution they were making to the economy by creating new jobs and capital investment. As Mr. Keogh noted, "These companies represent innovation, vitality, and an economic engine all of which has established and will continue to propel the Commonwealth of Virginia as a technological, trade and employment leader well into the twenty-first century."
Providing an energized keynote address was the Commonwealth's Secretary of Technology, the Honorable Aneesh Paul Chopra. Speaking to an audience of businesses that span the services, manufacturing, retail, wholesale, and technology sectors, he emphasized the fact that growth indicates an understanding of our customers' needs. And in doing so, we find the right people to drive wide-spread adoption of new innovations in technology. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Commonwealth of Virginia , where we continue to lead our nation with our economic growth, innovative programs that shape our future, and commitment to a diverse workforce. As Mr. DeWitt noted during the evening, "this event and the inspirational leaders that have addressed us tonight reinforce our commitment to growth. We believe that our core values -- leadership, integrity, and commitment - will continue to underscore our decisions as we propel the company to even greater achievement in the years to come."
Nominations for the Fantastic 50 were sought statewide from local chambers, economic development organizations, small business development centers and through the sponsors networks. To be eligible, companies were required to be privately held, with headquarters in Virginia , and to show sales between $200,000 and $100 million. They were judged on a four-year sales revenue history. Verification of all award entries was conducted by the accounting firm of Goodman and Company.
