SNVC's Phil Pounds, Elected Chairman for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University GSIS IAB
March 7, 2007 – Congratulations to Phil Pounds, SNVC's Director of Southwest Operations!  In keeping with our corporate value of leadership , Phil clearly demonstrated leadership when he was elected as Chairman of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Global Security and Intelligence Studies (GSIS) Industrial Advisory Board (IAB).  Last week, the IAB met for the first time to choose its leadership team and set forth its mission for the coming year.  Phil will be leading a distinguished panel of board members that include senior executives from Honeywell Aerospace, The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Group, and Air Security International.  Also participating on the IAB are two prior graduates of the ERAU GSIS program and prior members of the National Defense Intelligence College Board of Visitors.  During the meeting, the board outlined its mission.  They will focus their efforts on validating the GSIS program both academically and structurally and making recommendations to the President of ERAU to improve the program.  Additionally, the IAB will serve as an avenue for GSIS Student opinion and work with ERAU to meet the needs of industry, government and academic communities.  Having SNVC representation on academic boards like this provides a way for us to lead in our communities.  Effective university relations contribute not only to joint business opportunities but also to possible recruiting needs and those are just two of the many corporate benefits that can be gained.  Whether it's corporate or personal benefits, though, the results are the same – people with knowledge working together toward a common goal.
