Position Summary/Labor Category Description:

IT technicians diagnose computer problems, monitor computer processing systems, install software and perform tests on computer equipment and programs. Technicians may also set up computer equipment, support schedule maintenance and have a strong knowledge of computers and how they operate, which includes having a broad understanding of hardware and software, operating systems and basic computer programming. Familiarity with electronic equipment, Internet applications and security may also be required. Technicians will need good communication skills because this position requires frequent interaction with clients.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum 2 Years Experience, Must possess a DOD 8570 IAT Level I (A+)  or higher( IAT Level II Security +), Exceptional problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills, extremely organized and able to juggle multiple trouble calls.

The following certifications are required within 90 days from the hiring date - CompTIA Security+ CE and Microsoft Certified IT professional (Windows7).

Position Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The IT/PC Technician's role is to support and maintain on and off site (Fort Leonard Wood Installation) in-housecomputer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end userassistance where required.  Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring PC performance.   Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.   Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs.  Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware systems.
