SNVC was responsible for the operational and network design for the IRS Year 2000 operations center, the Global Combat Service Support-Army program, and the Army Materiel Command, Year 2000 reporting and monitoring network. Currently SNVC's responsibilities encompass the design and management of the National Guard Bureau's Wide Area Network (WAN) named GuardNet. This network not only supports the Guard's nationwide distributed training mission but it also serves as the command, control and communication backbone for NGB's disaster and homeland defense missions. Additionally SNVC has designed security solutions as part of data and information networks to include the AMC Secure Single Sign-on and AMC Web Portal. SNVC is also deploying the Army's only operational Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security solution as part of its Senior Leadership Communications Protection Program. This program provides AMC's General Officers, SES' and key staff members a digitally signed and encrypted messaging capability.
