SNVC names Richard Irwin Vice President, Department of Homeland Security Accounts

SNVC, a premier provider of IT and network solutions, announces that Richard Irwin, former Director of Incident Management for the Department of Homeland Security, will serve as the new Vice President of Department of Homeland Security Accounts.

“I am excited about joining SNVC, a company that has great Program Management and Information Technology qualifications,” says Mr. Irwin. “I look forward to growing their homeland security account.”

Mr. Irwin began his government career with the Central Intelligence Agency in 1977, which provided him with extensive operational and senior management expertise, specializing in all levels of crisis management; special events planning; physical, technical and operational security; special operations; and counterterrorism, both domestic and international.

After distinguishing himself in Afghanistan following the September 11, 2001 attacks, Mr. Irwin was assigned to the White House, at the direction of the Director of Central Intelligence George Tenet, to serve as the Director of Incident Management for the Office of Homeland Security. In March 2003, Mr. Irwin was elevated to the position of Director of Incident Management for the Homeland Security Council at the White House, serving in this capacity through May 2004.

At the request of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, Mr. Irwin was then appointed Director of Incident Management for the Department of Homeland Security in June 2004. After retiring from the CIA in 2005, he served as Vice President of Alutiiq’s Homeland Security Division and in 2010 joined MELE Associates as its Vice President of Homeland Security.

“Mr. Irwin brings excellent technical expertise, combined with senior leadership and vision, to the SNVC team. We are pleased to have him on board and look forward to working together as SNVC continues to grow and expand into new markets, especially in Homeland Security and related industries,” says SNVC President and CEO Tom DeWitt.
