Since the company established its innovative partnership with Longwood University and Franklin Covey, it has trained nearly 80% of the SNVC workforce in the concepts of leadership under the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The two-day training event is based on the Covey Signature Course and is offered through the SNVC Institute for Leadership and Innovation. It is considered a life-changing experience for many who attend.
Most recently, the Signature Course was taught to the SNVC Team based at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. The company’s Senior Director of Program Services, Reginald Williams, hosted the team and instructor over a weekend. When the course concluded, Williams asked the 7 Habits instructor of his impression of SNVC and the corporate goal of wanting to train every employee. His respond was, “I’m very impressed with the company’s obvious intent to enable greatness in the entire organization through continuous development and refinement of the organizational culture. Some companies pay lip service to organizational alignment around principles but as a friend of mine says often, I’m convinced that SNVC is the real deal."
With nearly 90% of employees engaging with clients every day, the Covey training has revolutionized SNVC’s service handlings. Employees consistently identify win-win situations, new ways to synergize, and more effective means for prioritizing tasks and delivering value to clients. Tom DeWitt, President and CEO of SNVC, stated, “Our recent number 1 ranking as a Best Place to Work in Virginia reflects how much our focus on training and professional development is valued by our workforce. I’m pleased that the 7 Habits provides the basis for our programs and helps shape our corporate culture every day.”
