On Saturday January 28, 2012, SNVC celebrated its 13th Annual Dinner with more than 100 in attendance. The Annual Dinner is SNVC’s formal event of the year; celebrating the past year’s successes and looking ahead at new programs and initiatives in the New Year. The theme for the evening was “Be Creative and Masquerade,” inviting employees to wear creative and unique masks for the event. Creativity is a key corporate initiative in 2012 with a focus on workforce development and innovation.
Held at the Waterford of Fair Oaks, the evening kicked-off with a colorful cocktail hour where employees showed off their masks. Following drinks in the reception room, employees were invited to move into the ballroom, which was decorated with Manzanita centerpieces complete with hanging candle votives and light bulbs turned into hanging vases. Additional centerpieces added to the mystical atmosphere with colorful masks and feathers illuminated by candle light.
Filled with awards for various achievements, innovations, and special recognitions, the Annual Dinner recognized several of SNVC’s most memorable moments of 2011. CEO Tom DeWitt recognized the outstanding efforts of the Virginia’s Best Places to Work capture team which led to Virginia Business Magazine naming SNVC the number one “Best Place to Work in Virginia” for midsized companies. Additionally, Maggie Deichman, Tim Harvey, and Debbie O’Day received awards for their outstanding recruiting efforts throughout the year. Awards concluded with the 2nd Annual “Tommy Awards,” a series of mock Oscars identifying various employees’ standout moments. Employees nominated each other in the following categories: Innovative Idea of the Year, Creative Superstar of the Year, Most Comical Moment, Most Dynamic Team Effort, and Standout Moment of the Year. Following the nomination period, employees then voted on their favorite in each category and the winners were announced at the dinner and provided with a “gold” Tommy statue.
