SNVC is pleased to announce that it has once again formed Team SNVC Success to support the March of Dimes. The team is inspired to walk and raise awareness about premature births through our own employees′ personal stories. We have shared the sorrow when our employees have lost a child just hours after birth. We have shared in the concern when our employees have babies who must face surgery in order to ultimately live a healthy life.
We have also celebrated the growing families in our company and in our community. In both times of sorrow and joy, we have seen how the March of Dimes supports our families, which is why we focus on the successful journey that many of our corporate family have experienced firsthand.
As we approach the sixth consecutive year where we’ve partnered with March for Babies, we are proud to report that our efforts have resulted in more than $50,000 in donations. Our fundraising efforts span many outlets, including our community businesses. On 11 April, Team SNVC Success hosted its third annual “Baja for Babies” fundraiser at Baja Fresh in Fairfax, VA. On 25 April, we hosted “Breakfast for Babies” in the lobby of our headquarters building. Each of these events helps raise the awareness of premature birth, which is the #1 cause of newborn death and the biggest threat to babies' health today.
“It has been said that the true meaning of leadership is service,” Beth Miller-Herholtz, Vice President of Strategic Development. “We stress this concept throughout our training programs and in our corporate culture. It has been inspiring to see the support from the March of Dimes and how that has also inspired our workforce to get involved and lead.” Team SNVC Success will host its next fundraising event at Glory Days Grill in Centreville, Virginia on 8 May. The Team will be walking in the National March for Babies on 12 May, finishing on the home plate of the Washington Nationals’ Stadium.
If you are in the area, you are invited to join us as we “Dine for Babies” at Glory Days or “March for Babies” in Washington, DC. For more information, please visit the Team SNVC Success page at: http://www.marchforbabies.org/team/SNVCSuccess.

“From a technical standpoint, we have more certified Microsoft professionals than most of our competitors,” said Justin Haffey, SNVC Chief Technical Officer. “This achievement guarantees you’re working with credible, skilled people who have the tools and know-how to help you make strategic IT decisions for your company.”
SNVC is regarded as an innovator in IT, solving difficult business challenges in information technology since 1998. When SNVC added SharePoint capabilities to its in-house expertise in 2011 through Advanced Data, the company strengthened its service offering exponentially and became a one-stop provider for Portals and Collaboration, CRM, Knowledge Management, Document Management, Business Process Improvement and more.
“The achievement of Gold Partner (Portals and Collaboration) is an exciting step for the direction of the company,” said Pete DiPaola, Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Data. “We thank the employees who went through the rigorous training and testing process to earn this certification, as well as our clients who provided references on our work.” In addition to the requirements for demonstrated certification and expertise, Gold Partner status is also based on a list of customer reference projects that are independently verified by Microsoft.
SNVC is fully committed to workforce development and provides numerous opportunities for employees to participate in training programs and seek professional certifications. “SNVC continues to prioritize investment in our team members,” said SNVC President and CEO Tom DeWitt. “Our commitment to the training and development of our people translates to results for our clients.”
Status as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner is awarded to just one percent of partners and provides in-depth access to exclusive resources and early product information, non-disclosure evaluation of new products and technologies, as well as planning tools and events. “This will enable our team to keep up to speed on the latest Microsoft product developments and future direction. The smarter we are, the better we can solve our customers’ business challenges,” added DeWitt.

FAIRFAX, VA – SNVC, a premier provider of innovative IT solutions, announces that Andrew Scholnick, Network/Mobility/Security Subject Matter Expert, will present a white paper at the upcoming Conference on Digital Forensics, Security and Law. The paper, titled “Facilitating Forensics in the Mobile Millennium through Proactive Enterprise Security,” addresses how enterprise security protocols are undermined by mobile device security. The 2012 ADFSL Conference will be held May 30-31 in Richmond, Va.
According to one review, Scholnick’s work is “a must-read for anyone in corporate security who has employees using mobile devices to access the corporate databases.” The paper will also be published in the Journal of Digital Forensics, Security and Law, which features original research and commentary about digital forensics and its relationship to security and law.
“At SNVC, we offer innovative IT solutions that solve business challenges for our clients. We also provide value by being thought leaders in the industry. We believe we have a responsibility to share our knowledge,” said Beth Miller-Herholtz, SNVC Vice President of Strategic Development. “Andrew’s presentation at the upcoming conference is a terrific example of this.”
The first ADFSL Conference on Digital Forensics, Security and Law took place in 2006, and each year the conference attracts both academic and practitioner attendees. The purpose of the conference is to create an environment in which people can understand, teach and develop resources around computer forensics and digital evidence.
In addition to SNVC’s knowledge of mobile and network security, the company has extensive experience in data protection solutions for government agencies, including the Department of Defense. “We’ve worked for public sector clients for whom information protection is a matter of national security,” said Justin Haffey, SNVC Chief Technology Officer. “Now we’re putting this expertise to work for the private sector.”

SNVC, a premier provider of IT and network solutions, recently contracted with Learning Tree to enhance its Professional Development training program. SNVC is a market leader in innovative business solutions and is committed to workforce development initiatives both internally and throughout the state of Virginia.
“In today’s economic environment, we believe it’s incumbent upon both small and large business to invest in the development of their workforces,” said Beth Miller-Herholtz, SNVC’s Vice President of Strategic Development. “At SNVC, we understand that by providing our employees with the most current continuing education resources, we increase employee satisfaction, workforce retention and, ultimately, the level of service we provide to our clients.”
SNVC is regarded as a thought leader and innovator in the IT and business solutions space. Learning Tree is an international leader in management and IT professional development. “It was a match made in heaven,” added Reginald Williams, Senior Director of Programs and Services, SNVC. “Learning Tree provides hands-on technical training to ensure our employees are current in the ever-changing technology market.”
SNVC is no newcomer to workforce development initiatives. President and CEO Tom DeWitt pioneered the SNVC Institute for Leadership and Innovation at Longwood University. DeWitt is also the current Chair of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Small Business Committee. “We embrace the challenge to train and develop the leaders of the future,” DeWitt explained. “SNVC’s leadership team has prioritized investment in our employees. We are eager to tap into the 245 standard and 700 custom IT, Business Skills and Management courses offered by Learning Tree.”
In addition to providing the resources for SNVC employees to obtain professional certifications, the partnership with Learning Tree will allow the company to offer Learning Tree’s “AnyWare Live” online training to employees who work remotely.
“Given the escalating cost of professional certifications and the associated training, SNVC is providing training vouchers to members of our workforce nationwide who seek professional certifications,” said Miller-Herholtz. “The combination of training vouchers and our current reimbursement program offers our employees more flexibility in pursuing certifications and skill development that’s in high demand from our clients and our own strategic objectives.”
SNVC Celebrates its 5th Annual Dinner - WestFebruary 13, 2012
February 10, 2012. Members of the SNVC Leadership team joined the team supporting the Communications Security Logistics Activity (CSLA) in Sierra Vista, Arizona, for the 5th Annual Dinner West. The dinner was held at the Mesquite Tree restaurant, which provided a taste of Arizona in both menu and decor. During dinner, the team enjoyed a look back at the success and fun in 2011.
The best news of 2011 for the CSLA team was a successful re-compete of the contract, which means continued support for our client at Ft. Huachuca for another three years. It also means working with both CACI (the prime) and SRA (an long-standing business partner) under the R23G contract vehicle.
After dinner, Reginald Williams (Sr. Director Professional Services) presented members of the team who graduated from the Covey Signature Course with certificates of completion. He and Mark Colwell (Project Manager for the CSLA task) then recognized former SNVC employee, Brad Blazek, for his outstanding community service supporting Wounded Warriors throughout the country. Blazek is a Wounded Warrior himself who has invested more than 2,000 hours of community service working with soldiers who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The evening concluded with remarks from SNVC CEO and President Tom DeWitt, who provided a look at SNVC's financial stability, efforts to diversify in both federal and commercial markets, and investments in the SNVC workforce through partnerships with FAST U and Learning Tree. He ended the evening with sincere appreciation for the work done by the entire CSLA team, knowing that they have all supported soldiers who have been down range, relying on equipment and secure communications that this team works to ensure it is maintained and operational throughout the mission.
