The Aurora Foundation was established as a 501(c)3 non-profit entity in 2008 by key leaders at SNVC. We made it our mission to help our nation’s heroes to complete their education and join the workforce. In both academia and industry, we supported our returning veterans, joining them on the journey from “boots to books to business."

We gave grants to colleges, universities, and community colleges to create programs in support of student veterans. In order to help veterans enter the workforce, we created the Aurora Internship Program. The Internship Program worked with organizations in the public and private sectors to establish paid internships for student veterans. During their internship, veterans took part in a weekly curriculum built by SNVC, Stephen Covey (author of 7 Habits for Highly Effective People), and Longwood University.
